James S. Barreira, 80, of Westport died Friday, May 24, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Julia A. (Dinger) Barreira. Born in Fall River, he was son of the late John S. and Adeline (Camara) Barreira. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Prior to retirement he was a boiler maker for Local 29 in Quincy.
Including his wife, survivors include 2 sons: Rickie A. Barreira of Fall River and Timmy L. Barreira and his companion Jill Harris of Westport; a daughter: Sharon K. Barreira and her companion John Gagnon of Westport; 4 grandchildren: Jamie, Timothy, Jr., Kaila and Justin; a great grandson: Rylan; and nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late William Barreira and Ronald Barreira.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
