Mrs. Marie A. (Quintal) Laplante, 91, of Lawrence died on May 21st at the Warde Health Center in Windham, NH. Born in Lawrence Mrs. Laplante had been an area resident except for the 30 years when she moved extensively as a United States Air Force spouse. Daughter of the late Nelson and Bertha (Bolduc) Quintal, she worked at Western Electric as an inspector. Mrs. Laplante was a member of the Pioneers of America, the American Sewing Guild, and the Lawrence Immigrant City Archives. She also loved to perform in the Pioneer’s clown troupe under the name “Tiffany the bag lady”. Mrs. Laplante was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish. The widow of Rene A. “Buster” Laplante, she is survived by one daughter, Denise Hofmann of Salem, OR, and four sons, Paul Laplante and his wife Susan of College Station, TX , Peter Laplante of Toronto, Canada, John Laplante and his wife Barbara of Scottsdale, AZ, and Marc Laplante and his wife Susan of Lawrence, MA. The eldest of 15 children, she is survived by three sisters, Sr. Rita Quintal, Virginia Sullivan, and Theresa Avard, and three brothers, Rene Quintal, Felix Quintal, and Vincent Quintal. There are 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and over 60 nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa Church on June 10th at 11:00 am; burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Edgar J. Racicot Inc.
