OJAI, CALIFORNIA: Frederick Eugene Schultz, 90, of Ojai, entered into Eternal Life on Tuesday May 21, 2013 at his home with his loving family at his side. Mr. Schultz was born October 20, 1922 in Taylor, Texas and was a Ventura County resident for the past 29 years coming from Houston, Texas.
He was an exploration Manager for Exxon Mobil Oil for 37 years. He contributed to the discovery and naming of the Hondo Platform offshore California. After his retirement he held positions with SOHIO and Pauley Petroleum.
Fred graduated from the University of Texas obtaining his Bachelors Degree in Geology. During WWII Fred served in the U.S. Army in Germany as an Advanced Scout for field Artillery and was awarded the Bronze Star and Rifleman's Award.
Fred was an avid fisherman and enjoyed building model trains and railroads. He and his beloved wife Lois traveled all over Europe and especially enjoyed the time they spent in Denmark. Mr. Schultz recorded and was the executive producer of a children's album based on Christian principals.
Fred was a member and past president of the Ojai Retired Men's Club and the Ojai Optimist Club. Fred and his wife Lois are active members of the Ojai Presbyterian Church, Ojai Dinner Dance Club, and he was Director and member of the Church's Dinner Club, and Soule Park Senior Men's Golf Club. Fred was a member of the Society of Petroleum Exploration Geophysicists.
Fed is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lois Schultz. Son and daughter-in-law Van and Susan Schultz; grandson Stephen and his wife Deesha Schultz; granddaughter Jennifer and her husband Matt Holloway.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday May 28, 2013 in the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home 757 E. Main Street Ventura with Pastor David Berge of the Ojai Presbyterian Church Officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
