M. Pattricia Cozzi, 87, of Provincetown, died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday May 21, 2013, the birthday of her late husband Ciro Cozzi who died last Valentine’s Day. Born in Davenport, IA on December 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Alston D. and Mary (Finnicum) McNeill. She, like her husband Ciro was a well known Provincetown resident. They were married on February 1, 1966. She was a Registered Nurse and a graduate of the University of the State of New York, class of 1961. In Provincetown in the mid ‘60s, she started the drop-in center which was located on Gosnold St. and evolved into Health Associates, which later became known as Outer Cape Health. She has served on the board of Outer Cape Health for many years.
She has always been interested in healthy living and alternative forms of healing. She owned and operated the first health store in Provincetown called “Earth Food.” She also ran La Dispensa Di Ciro, located on Commercial Street where she sold gourmet cooking items. Every year she and Ciro hosted a benefit in the garden of their home on Commercial Street for the Provincetown Art Association.
She is survived by her 4 step children, Theo Poulin and her husband Randy of Provincetown, Peter Cozzi of Provincetown, Michaele Cozzi and her husband James Schenck of Venice, CA and Alethea Cozzi and her husband Ivor Overmeyer of W. Yarmouth, her 3 step grandchildren, Andrew Czyoski of Provincetown, Brandon Czyoski of Truro and Liam Overmeyer of W. Yarmouth, her step great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Alexis Czyoski. She is also survived by her sister Judith Steffan of Overland Park, KS, her 6 nephews, Rich, Doug and Stuart all of Kansas, Stephen and Daniel Marr of Louisiana and Patrick Marr of Kentucky, her niece Susan Jones and her husband Douglas of Newport, VT and her 3 grandnieces Maggie, Gwynne and Olivia.
