William J. “Bill” Macko, 82 of Omaha, Nebraska formerly of Medway died May 12. He was the husband of the late Nonie (Smith) Macko.
Born in Medway, August 8, 1930 the son of the late William and Josephine (Jankowski) Macko, Mr. Macko was raised in Medway and had lived in Nebraska for many years.
He served in the Air Force for 21 years retiring as a Master Sergeant. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Mr. Macko was Captain of the golf team at the Dover Air Force Base.
Following his military service he was golf pro. Mr. Macko was a member of the Professional Golfers Association of America.
He is survived by his children, Wanda McCutcheon and her husband John of Ridgewood, New Jersey and Deborah and her husband Mark Andahl of La Vista, Nebraska.
He was the brother of Sophie Solan and the late Yetta Palladini, Helen Corey and Wanda Clancy.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, William Johnston, Michael Andahl, Erin McCutcheon, Dr. Jennifer Medlin, Jack McCutcheon and is great-grandchildren
Illeana Johnston and Erianna McCutcheon.
He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
His funeral mass will be held on Wednesday May 29 in St. Joseph Church, Village Street, Medway at 11:00.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
