Helen U. (Shurkus) Crandall, 87, of Franklin, died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Ralph H. Crandall who died in 1999.
Born in Cambridge on June 15, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Domenick Shurkus.
Mrs. Crandall was a resident of Franklin since 1992 and formerly resided in Pittsfield.
Before her retirement, she worked at Crane & Co. in Dalton and had formerly worked as a telephone operator in Franklin for many years.
Mrs. Crandall was a member of the Franklin Senior Center and enjoyed playing bingo.
She was the sister of the late William and Joseph Shurkus and Anna Konis.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
