
Dudley – Edward L. Patrowicz, 85, of Dudley, died Friday, May 17, 2013 in Webster Manor with his family at this side. His wife of 60 years, Alice R. (Grzyb) Patrowicz, died May 11.
He leaves a son, Michael E. Patrowicz and his wife Deborah N. Patrowicz of Dudley; nieces and nephews; and many friends. He also leaves his beloved cat Sara.
He was born in Webster, the youngest child of Lawrence and Frances (Kaczynski) Patrowicz, and lived in Dudley all his life. He graduated from Bartlett High School.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was an active member of the Polish American Veterans in Webster and attended several conventions.
Mr. Patrowicz first worked for the Dudley Highway Department. He was then employed by Cranston Print Works Company in Webster for 20 years. He was a chauffeur-laborer and a foreman at the Mass. State Highway Department in Sturbridge and Charlton before retiring in 1990.
He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church. He was a member of the Nichols College Golf Club and held the distinction of hitting four holes-in-one in his years as a golfer. He loved Polka dancing. He especially took pride in tending to his lawn and yard. He could recall sports statistics easily.
The family would like to thank the staff at the TCU at Hubbard Hospital and at Webster Manor for their kind and compassionate care for Edward.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 23, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will perform military honors after the Mass. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 22, in the funeral home.
