Kenneth P. Chagnon, 88, formerly of Dover Road in Millis, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of Patricia I. (Devlin) Chagnon.
Born in the Nashua, NH on May 1, 1925, he was the son of the late Archibald and Marie (Keanan) Chagnon.
Mr. Chagnon was a WWII Army veteran, proudly serving for three years. He attained the rank of corporal and was a radio operator station on Kwajalein Atoll.
Following the war, Mr. Chagnon earned an Associate’s Degree from Wentworth Institute and before his retirement, worked at Ackerley Communications in Boston for over 40 years.
Mr. Chagnon was an avid golfer and former member of the Nashua Country Club. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox and N.E. Patriots fan. He enjoyed gardening, photography, bird watching and building bird houses, although his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Michael Chagnon and his wife Anna of Lakeville, his daughter, Joyce Gatto and her husband Jeffrey of Franklin and five grandchildren, Brianna, Angelina, Christian, Dylan and Nicholas.
He was the brother of the late Lucille Bonnett.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home; 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m.
Burial will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Millis at a later date.
