Philip A. Silveira, 73, of Mattapoisett, died August 12, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Dorothy A. (Furtado) Silveira.
Born and raised in Fairhaven, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Souza) Silveira, he lived in Mattapoisett most of his life.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church.
Mr. Silveira was formerly employed by Revere Copper & Brass for many years until his retirement.
During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed dancing and traveling with his many friends.
Survivors include his loving companion Claire Akucewicz of New Bedford; a son, Raymond J. Silveira of Mattapoisett; two sisters, Louise Bellotti of Dartmouth and Constance Sylvia of Fairhaven; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Marion Pacheco.
