Marlene Blevins, 74, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 13, 2004, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Dave Tonge and the Rev. Nancy Mills officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00, Thursday evening.
Mrs. Blevins was born June 3, 1930, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Sewell Lamar and Ruby Camille Smith. She was a 1946 graduate of Ashton High School. Mrs. Blevins was a retired Secretary with the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County Library. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, a member of the Alter Guild, former secretary of the Mission Council and a member of the Pilot Club.
Mrs. Blevins is survived by three daughters: Camille B. (Eddie) Brock, Fitzgerald, Melanie M. (Jim) Fisher, Atlanta, GA and Heather L. (David) Coffey, Fitzgerald; seven grandchildren; four brothers: Shelton Smith, Fitzgerald, David Smith, Fitzgerald, Edward Smith, Crosby, TX and Wayne Smith, Fitzgerald; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. “Larry” Blevins and a brother, Donald Smith.
