Obituary

Worcester- Adam J. Listaite, also known as Adam J. Lee, 95, of 8 Lanesboro Rd., died Wednesday, August 11, in Autumn Village Nursing Center, after a short illness.

His wife, Josephine B. "Josie" (Roman) Listaite, died in 1978. He leaves a son, Robert J. Listaite of Holden; a daughter, Carolyn M. Sarno of Stamford, CT; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Joseph and Helen (Lenovitch) Listaite, and he graduated from Commerce High School.

Mr. Listaite worked as a Circulation Manager for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, where he worked for 52 years, retiring in 1978. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council #88 and was the oldest living veteran of the Worcester Police Department and was a veteran of the Worcester Light Infantry Association. He was an avid bowler.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 14, in St. Christopher’s Church, 950 West Boylston St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., is directing arrangements.
