
Helen J. (Silvia) Cunha of Natick died on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Mary Ann Morse Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Natick at the age of 82.
Born on July 3rd, 1930 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late August & Mary (Morris) Silvia. Helen was raised in East Boston and a 1946 graduate of East Boston High School. She was a homemaker, raised three children and lived in California from 1981 to 1999 and worked in the Human Resources Department for the Syntex Company of Mountainview, California.
Helen then lived in Natick, was a member of St. Patrick’s Church of Natick and enjoyed cooking, baking, bingo, knitting, Concerts on the Common, slot machines & scratch tickets.
She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph A. Cunha, with whom they shared 18 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Karen Clinton & her husband Will of San Jose, CA, Brenda Franciose & her husband Rocky of Natick & Mark Cunha & his wife Jimmie of Oak Dale, CA. Cherished Nana of Ashley Hagins & her husband John of Morgan Hill, CA, Brittany Clinton of San Jose, CA, Michael Bruneau & his wife Erica of Fairfield, CT, Stephanie Mitcham & her husband Timothy of Holly Springs, NC & Chase & Hailee Cunha, both of Oak Dale, CA. “Big Nana” of Jackson, Cassidy, Isabel, Jocelyn, Melissa & Michael. Caring sister of Mary Vieira of East Boston, the late Elsie Nunes, the late Francis Silvia & his wife Beverly of FL. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and dear friend Constantino Porzio of Natick.
Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home 4 Park St. at Natick Common on Tuesday, May 21st at 8:30AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church 44 East Central St., Natick at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours prior from 8:30AM-9:30AM in the funeral home. Interment in Westwood Cemetery, Westwood, MA.
