Sylvester DeAndrade, 74, of Dartmouth died Thursday May 16, 2013 unexpectedly at home. He was the lifelong companion of Asia Silva.
Born in Assonet, the son of the late John and Minnie (Dandan) DeAndrade, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. DeAndrade was formerly employed as a maintenance man at Our Lady of the Assumption Church for 30 years until his retirement.
Mr. DeAndrade served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of the United Social Club.
Survivors include his lifelong companion; 3 sons, Sylvester Scott, Derek Silva and Darren DeAndrade; 5 daughters, Debra Ramos, Dianna Holley, Darlene Middlebrooks, Shellie Scott and Aja DeAndrade; a sister, Marie Martins; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Jean Sylvia, Doris Rego and Joseph DeAndrade.
His visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 19th from 4-8 PM with his Funeral Service at 7 PM during the visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
