Theresa D. "Tessie" (DeAngelis) Brown, a resident of Tewksbury for over 30 years and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life unexpectedly on Friday, May 10, 2013 while vacationing in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was 79 years old.
Tessie was born in Boston on January 13, 1934, a daughter of the late Carmen DeAngelis and Mabel (Copperthon) DeAngelis. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. She moved to Tewksbury with her family in the late 1970's and worked as a Secretary for the Tewksbury School system for over 20 years. Tessie enjoyed playing bingo and looked forward to her 4 to 6 trips a year to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tessie is the beloved wife of the late retired Boston Police Officer Joseph W. Brown Jr. She is the devoted mother of Elizabeth Armstrong and her husband Walter of Chelmsford, the late Joseph M. Brown and his surviving wife Lisa Brown of Pelham, New Hampshire. She is the loving Nana to Emily and Camden Armstrong and Joseph and Sarah Brown. She is the beloved sister of the late Florenda Forlizzi, Mary Marelli and Michael DeAngelis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tessie's Funeral on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11:30 A.M. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
