Carl E. Mattson, Sr., 86 of Tewksbury, died Tuesday after a brief illness in the Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus, Lowell, MA.
Born in Saugus, he lived in Tewksbury for the past 12 years and formerly of Somerville and Medford. He was the son of the late Dorothy (Pierce) and Carl O. Mattson. Carl was a Manager for 42 years at the former First National Stores in the Boston area and retired in 1989. He served during World War II from 1944 to 1946 in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1st Class.
Beloved husband of the late Aurora (Kazanjian) Mattson. Devoted father of Carl E. Mattson Jr. and his wife Claire, James Mattson all of Tewksbury, Steven Mattson and his wife Sue of New Hampshire and the late John S. Mattson. Loving grandfather of Crissy and Jennifer Mattson. Loving great grandfather of Miranda. Brother of Marion Patterson of Hampton, NH, Dorothy Maloney of CA, Eleanor of WA and the late Dave Mattson.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 11AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4-8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
