Lucille E. Chandler died peacefully in the company of her family on April 28, 2013 at UMass-Memorial Hospital.
Born February 9, 1930 in Cambridge, MA. to the late Mary and Romeo Verrier. She was predeceased by her husband Otis “George” Chandler. Lucille leaves behind her loving daughter Laura Quayle and her husband John. She is survived by her sister and best friend Lillian Arseaneaux and her husband Peter of Lake Wales, FLA., and two brothers, Robert Verrier and his wife Polly, Richard Verrier and his wife Geraldine. She is also survived by two loving grandchildren, Emily Rowan and her husband Jon and Amy Jaffe and her husband Joel, and 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Lucille graduated from the former Our Lady of Pity in Cambridge and loved to play sports. When she married her husband he taught her to play handball and she was very proud to be one of the first women to become active in this sport.
She lived in Belmont and spent many years working for the Nestle Co. Once she retired she moved to Webster to be close to her daughter. Lucille loved to travel and dance, play games, collect cookbooks and read her Kindle. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Lucille always had a way of looking on the bright side of things and made many friends wherever she went. She will be remembered for her dedication and love for her daughter and all her family.
There are no calling hours.
A Memorial Service for Lucille will be Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11 AM in the Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St.,Webster.
Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Webster.
