WEBSTER – Lorraine C. (Donais) Cyr, 81, of 62 Colonial Road, died Thursday, August 12, in Oakwood Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Her husband of 54 years, Abel R. Cyr, died in 2002.
She leaves a son and his wife, Darryl R. and Susan M. Cyr of Webster; a daughter and her husband, Beverly J. and Charles Cunningham of East Hartford, CT; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 daughters, Jacqueline Cyr and Sharon Bonnette.
She was born in Webster, the daughter of Adelard and Viola (Latour) Donais. She graduated from Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge.
Along with her husband, she owned and operated the Frontenac Café. She also worked at Jean Cyr’s Variety Store, Fish & Chips Outlet, and Pasttime Club, all on Lake Street, before retiring. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
The funeral will be held Saturday, August 14, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A calling period will be from 8:15 to 9:15 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
