Howard L. Sebastian, age 90, of Mystic, passed away on Wednesday.
He was born in Mystic on October 25, 1922 one of eleven children to Arthur Sebastian Sr. and Betty (Robert) Sebastian. After receiving his education, he served in the US Army during World War II.
Howard was employed at Davis-Standard in Mystic and Stonington before retiring. He was a respected elder of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation.
His wife, Ruth Douglas Sebastian passed away in 1997. He is survived by his sons, Ernest M. Sebastian of Mystic and Howard R. Sebastian of North Stonington, 4 grandchildren, Duane, Danell, Deborah, and Tanya, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by all of his siblings, Lilly Hawkins, Warren Sebastian, Lillian Sebastian, Arthur Sebastian,, Judith Sebastian Jackson, Idabelle Sebastian Jordan, Dorothy Sebastian Hardy, Benjamin Sebastian, James Edward Sebastian, and Marjorie Sebastian Colebut.
Visitation will be held at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Wednesday from 10am-11:45am, immediately followed by a service at 12noon. Burial with presentation of military honors will be in the family plot at Elm Grove Cemetery.
