Charles Warren Stickney, 87, of Atkinson, NH and formerly of North Salem, NH died Sunday, May 12th peacefully in his home.
Born June 2, 1925 in Derry, NH, he was the son of the late Walter E. Stickney Sr. and the late Ruth (Conley) Stickney. He was the husband of Olive (Smith) Stickney, the love of his life for 64 years. Warren was educated in Salem, NH schools, attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946.
Warren was a skilled self-employed contractor and with his late brother Walter Stickney Jr. operated Stickney Brothers Construction for many years. He was also one of the founding members and past president of the Salem Contractors Association. Warren was active in Dollars for Scholars and the Salem Band Parent Association and served as president of both organizations. He also served on the Salem Board of Adjustment and was a 4-H Club leader for many years. A North Salem native, he also was an active volunteer fireman.
Warren enjoyed collecting old cars and ‘hit and miss’ engines and attended old tractor and car shows faithfully. He was dedicated to being involved with his grandchildren and joined Buzz Durkin’s Karate School at age 75 with his grandsons. In recent years, Warren maintained an impressive vegetable garden on his deck, where he spent many hours from spring to fall.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Candace Boulay and her fiancé Clyde LaClair of Atkinson, NH; a son Kevin Stickney and his wife Lynne of Atkinson, NH; grandchildren Danielle Boulay and her husband Nathaniel Lynch of Watertown, MA; Gillian Boulay of Watertown, MA; Andrew Boulay and his fiancé Jennifer Champagne of Jersey City, NJ; Gabrielle Boulay and Francisco Garcia of Wallington, NJ; Giselle Boulay of Hudson, NH; Brandon Stickney of Atkinson, NH; Coty Stickney of Atkinson, NH; a brother, Wallace Stickney and his wife Nancy of North Salem, NH; a sister, Ruth Arnfield and her husband Alan of Poughkeepsie, NY and his beloved English Springer Spaniel Charlie.
Warren is predeceased by a son, Barry Stickney; brothers, Walter Stickney Jr., Carroll Stickney and sister, Eleanor Martel. He was also loved by many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed by all.

And a special thanks to Carolyn who stepped in to support us to enable Warren to remain at home with dignity.
Visitation will be Friday, May 17th from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
The Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM. Burial is in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, N. Salem, NH.
