Mrs. Elizabeth (Waldie) Madison, a lifelong resident of Andover and beloved wife of the late Kenneth Paul Madison, died at the Academy Manor Nursing Center in Andover on Wednesday evening, May 8, 2013. She was 92 years old.
Born in Andover, Massachusetts, on August 13, 1920, she was the beloved daughter of the late James and Agnes (Smith) Waldie. Mrs. Madison worked for Converse Rubber in Andover and had also been employed by Hardy Brush for several years. She was a lifelong member of the Free Christian Church in Andover and was a Sunday School teacher at the church for many years. Elizabeth loved to listen to the Police Scanner in Andover. Above all, she was a very devoted wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother.
She will be missed by her loving children; Sandra L. Ryan and her partner, Ronald L. Cornu, both of Haverhill, Barbara Johnson of North Carolina, K. Paul Madison of North Carolina, siblings; Barbara Ross of Andover, Isobel and her husband Phil Bolduc of Providence, Rhode Island and Gina Sanborn of Andover, grandchildren; Cynthia, John, Ryan, Leah, Stephen, Paul, Dawn, David, Amy and Andrea, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Pauline Madison.
Her funeral service will be celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 6 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, prior to the service, from 4 to 6 PM. Interment will be private.
