Christopher J. Cabral, 86, of Greenville, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Anna T. (Connetti) Cabral. They were happily married for over 64 years.
Born in Smithfield, he was one of seven children of the late Christiano and Mary (Pacheco) Cabral. He was a lifelong resident of Smithfield.
He worked for the RI Department of Transportation for over 30 years as a driver and later retired as a Master Carpenter. He served as Master of the Greenville Grange #37 from 1990-2001. He was also a member of the Laurel Grange in Harmony.
He was a member of St. Philip Church for 64 years and sang with the church choir for 33 years. He enjoyed singing and performing with the Greenville Goldenaires and Happy Notes bringing smiles and merriment to all audiences.
He was an avid gardener and his hobbies included crafting and woodworking. Many of his family and friends enjoyed the handmade items he created through the years.
Besides his wife, he will be sadly missed by his daughters, Beverly Hardman of Smithfield and Cheryl Ciotola and her husband, Dr. Robert Ciotola of Salem, CT. He was the loving grandfather of: Kim Hardman, Christopher Ciotola and his wife, Michelle and Elizabeth Dubreuil and her husband, Michael and his great grandchildren: Brady, Analise and Lucas Dubreuil.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial with military honors will be in Little Greenville Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7pm.
