DUDLEY – Alice R. (Grzyb) Patrowicz, 82, of Dudley died Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Webster Manor with her family at her side.
She leaves her husband of 60 years, Edward L. Patrowicz; a son, Michael E. Patrowicz and his wife Deborah N. Patrowicz of Dudley; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She also leaves her beloved cat Sara. A brother, John W. Grzyb, Jr., died in 2009.
She was born in Webster, daughter of John W. Grzyb, Sr. and Cecelia T. (Stawasz) Grzyb, and lived in Dudley all her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Patrowicz worked in quality control at the American Optical Company in Southbridge for 38 years before she retired. She was a member of the American Optical Quarter Century Club.
She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church and a member of its Holy Rosary Sodality. She volunteered as a visitor to patients at Lanessa Extended Care Facility in the 1990’s. She enjoyed vacations on Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and Cape Ann. She loved listening to Polish music, tending her annual flower and vegetable garden, and solving jigsaw puzzles. She was an ardent Boston Red Sox fan.
The family would like to thank the staff at the TCU at Hubbard Hospital, at Lanessa Extended Care Facility and at Webster Manor for their kind and compassionate care for Alice.
The funeral will be held Friday, May 17, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 16, in the funeral home.
