Ethel F. Watson Cannington, 96, of Lenox went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ and her loving husband, Ira W. Cannington on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Berrien County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Dillard Ensley will officiate with burial to follow in Lenox Cemetery. Billy Godwin, Stanley Griffin, Gene Lawson, Mike Baker, Randall Moore and Darrell Baldree will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Betts, Charles E. Crumpton, Kenny Luke, Zach Wetherington, Thurman Smith, Johnny Daughtry, Darwin Eason and Dr. Richard Wheeler. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 13, 2013, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Cannington was born on June 18, 1916 in Tift County and was the daughter of Cleve Watson and Lula Blount Watson, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Ira William Cannington, one brother and three sisters. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Cook County. She loved fishing, working on the farm and gardening in her yard.
Mrs. Cannington is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Ira Ray and Renee Cannington of Lenox; one daughter, Shirlee James of Jacksonville, Florida; two grandchildren and their spouses, Sonya and Ricky Falcon and Chris and Brittany Cannington; and two great-grandchildren, Bri Falcon and Raelyn Cannington.
