Obituary

Mr. Maurice A. Boucher, of Carver and formerly of Taunton, died Friday, May 10 in Jordan Hospital, Plymouth, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce M. (Belanger) Boucher. He was born 82 years ago in Raynham, the son of the late Donat and Yvonne (Poirier) Boucher. He was educated in Taunton and was a graduate of Fitchburg State College. Maurice had been a Carver resident for the past 4 years. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed in Shipping and Receiving for Shaw’s Supermarket in Ashland for 10 years. He was previously employed as a Sales Representative for Snap-On Tools for 20 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed cooking for his family and woodcarving. He was a communicant of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Taunton.
He leaves: 1 son: David M. Boucher and his wife, Deborah of Edgecomb, Me.; 3 daughters: Paula A. Nichols and her husband, Francis of New Harbor, Me., Karin M. Smith and her husband, Thomas of Wareham, and Deborah J. Brazil of Norton; 1 sister: Lucille Burgess of Attleboro; 4 grandchildren: David A. Boucher of New Harbor, Me., Daniel J. Corey of Rockland, Me., Amanda R. Boucher of Edgecomb, Me., and Mitchell D. Boucher of Edgecomb, Me.; a special nephew: William LaPalme of E. Bridgewater, and several other nieces and nephews. Maurice was also the brother of the late Louis, Gerard, and Anita Boucher, Cecile Gallepo and Theresa Deprete.
A Graveside Service will be held in the V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne, on Tuesday, May 14 at 2:15 P.M. The Procession will begin from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, at 12:30 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will precede the Procession, Tuesday, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
