Obituary

Rose Federico Chiappone died at Yale New Haven Hospital on May 8, 2013.

Rose was a resident of Stonington for the last 62 years. She was born May 20, 1929 in Caltavuturo, Sicily, Italy to the parents of Calogero and Maria Muscarella Federico. Rose became a naturalized citizen in 1959. She is predeceased by her husband Harry Charles Chiappone Sr.

Rose was employed by Monsanto Corporation and the Kellem Division of Harvey Hubbell.

She is survived by her sister Pina Federico (Giuseppe) Rugeirello of Monsummano Terme Pistoia,Italy, three children, Harry Chiappone, Jr., Marie (Richard) Sadler, Joseph (Carol) Chiappone Sr, and five grandchildren Erica Chiappone, Alessandra Chiappone, Christine (Stephen) Marien, Jennifer Chiappone, Joseph Chiappone Jr.

Visitation will be at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Sunday, May 12th from 4:00-6:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Monday at St. Mary’s Church, Stonington, CT. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Stonington immediately following services. There will be a gathering at St. Mary’s Church after burial.
