Elizabeth G. Cooney, 88, of Derry NH, passed away April 30th in Miami FL. She was the late daughter of William and Mary (Preston) Golden and wife of the late James J Cooney. Elizabeth was born, raised and educated in Andover MA and worked for many years at AT&T and Lucent Technology as a layout technician.
Elizabeth is survived by a son James J. Cooney Jr. of Miami FL, a daughter Mary Ellen Cooney of Derry NH, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by a brother Patrick W. Cooney.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday May 13th at St Monica’s Church in Methuen at 11am with burial to follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Elizabeth’s honor may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or www.stjude.org/donations.
