Josephine Doyle peacefully passed away with her family at her side on Thursday May 9, at the age of 93. Josephine was married to Robert P. Doyle until his death in 1991, a happy marriage of 43 years. Josephine is survived by, and lovingly remembered by her daughters Sandra and son in law Ray Dalbec of Plymouth, Joie and son in law Kevin Steel of Plymouth, and her son Robert Doyle Jr. and daughter in law Debora of Rowley. Very happy memories of Nana and Grandpa will be treasured by her grandchildren Matthew Dalbec and his fiancée’ Jill Cutler, Jolie (Steel) and Al Lucibello, and Kristen (Dalbec) and Andrew Careau. Nana also was fortunate to enjoy 5 great-grandchildren: Deven and Ryan Careau, and Casey, Alex, and Evan Lucibello.
Born in Somerville on October 31, 1919 Josephine was the daughter of Erminio and Alesandrina Piacentini, and was pre-deceased by her sisters Angelina Macone, Celeste Polito, Julia Piccolo, and by her brothers Americo and Louis Piacentini. Auntie Josie is lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Josephine graduated from Somerville High School and worked for NECCO Confectionery Company for many years. Josephine enjoyed crocheting afghan blankets for family, friends, and for charities. She traveled to Italy, France, Ireland, Hawaii, and Sanibel Island with her family. She was an accomplished seamstress, phenomenal Italian cook, Red Sox Fan and avid bingo player.
Nana and Grandpa loved to baby sit their grandchildren and never missed observing a holiday, birthday, or special accomplishment with a thoughtful celebration. Her family was her greatest joy and she was as devoted to her family as they were to her.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 373 Court St. (Rte 3A) N. Plymouth on Monday May 13 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be held at St Kateri Parish 140 South Meadow Rd Plymouth, MA on Tuesday May 14 at 10:00 AM, followed by laying to rest at Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth, next to her husband Bob. Josephine’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Life Care Center of Plymouth and Cranberry Hospice for their loving care. Josephine will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
