Obituary

Elwyn R. Parker, 74, of Bellingham passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Sheila L. (Lavery) Parker.

Born in Rutland, VT on June 23, 1938, he was a son of the late Elwyn W. and Ellen (Beasley) Parker.

Elwyn was a resident of Bellingham for the past 48 years.

He graduated from Corinth Central School in Corinth, NY and Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Elwyn worked as a C.P.A. at various companies in the area throughout the years. He also operated an independent tax service for many years.

An avid skier and hiker, Elwyn was the founder and advisor of the former Explorers Post 959 in Medway for 25 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three children: Pamela L. Parker of Queensbury, NY; Patrick E. Parker and his fiancée, Lauren J. Fisher, of Pawtucket, RI; and Mary Ellen Bouve and her husband, Richard J., of Plymouth; as well as four grandchildren: Melissa, Kevin, Rose and Hannah.

He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth W. Parker, and his wife, Sandra J., of Diamond Point, NY, many cousins, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday, May 13 at 9 a.m. from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com), followed by a funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Hopedale at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Medway.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made in Elwyn’s memory to the Boy Scouts of America, 2438 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021.
