METHUEN - Edward R. Smith, 45, a former Tewksbury resident, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Mid-Coast Hospital in Brunswick, Maine, after a lengthy illness. He was the companion of Gloria Jacobucci of Methuen
He was born in Woonsocket, R.I., Jan. 14, 1959, a son of the late John C. and Anna (Gould) Smith. He was raised in Tewksbury and attended Tewksbury schools.
He had also served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one daughter, Rachel Smith of Tewksbury, one son Ethan Smith of Tewksbury, three brothers, James C. Smith of Arkansas, Keith Smith of Belmont, Gerald C. Smith of Andover; three sisters, Brenda and her husband David Cross of Rutland, MA, Nancy V. and her husband Kevin Flaherty of Lowell, Louise B. and her husband Dick Barriss of No. Reading; a brother-in-law William Dunlevy of Andover; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was also the former husband of Carol (Urquhart) Smith of Tewksbury, brother of the late Gail Dunlevy, and Daniel S. Smith.
His funeral will be held Friday, Aug. 13, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Visiting hours Thursday evening 6 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment in Tewksbury Cemetery.
