John A. Murphy, Jr., 74, a resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.
Born in Lawrence, MA, John was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree from Fitchburg State College. John had worked as a Systems Engineer for Raytheon for some 35 years. He was also a United States Army Veteran. In his retirement, John enjoyed driving the elderly to their appointments or to where ever they had to go for New England Elderly Transport. He did that for 18 years.
The son of the late: John A. Murphy, Sr., and Blanche (Hebert) Murphy, members of John's family include:
his wife of 53 years: Eleanor R. (Egan) Murphy,
his son: John J. Murphy and his wife Kathryn of Methuen, MA, his granddaughter: Gillian Murphy of Methuen, MA, and several nieces and nephews. John is also survived by his extended family of Kim and Jay Mortimer and their 4 sons of Madison, AL.
