Rose Marie (Godwin) Francesconi, passed away peacefully on May 6 at Sutton Hill Nursing Home in North Andover, Massachusetts. She was born on July 11, 1932 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Rose attended school in Lawrence and received an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Merrimack College. She worked for many years at Compugraphic Corporation in Wilmington as the supervisor of one of their largest assembly departments.
Rose moved to Pleasantville NY in the late 1970's, where she owned and operated a very popular gift shop, The Flying Frog, featuring American made craft items. She was a gifted artist, using many methods to express herself, such as toll painting, counted cross stitching, sewing and tinning. Rose had a lovely singing voice and often entertained family and friends by singing songs popular from the 40's and 50's. She also had a well developed sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to make everyone around her laugh. An avid writer and reader, she especially loved material that would teach her something new, as she was always striving to expand her horizons. She was happiest reading a good book with a cup of tea next to her.
The daughter of the late Charles S. and Cora (Rajotte) Godwin, Rose was the loving mother to her daughter, Faith McCarthy and her son, the late Richard Graybill. She is survived by her son-in-law Daniel McCarthy and grandsons, Darren and James McCarthy of North Andover, her daughter-in-law, Lisa Graybill of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as well as her grandsons, Jason, Clinton and Kyle Graybill and her great grandson Jason. She leaves her brother Charles Godwin and his wife Annette of Nashua, New Hampshire, her sister Irene Diprima and her husband Fred of Salem, New Hampshire, and several nieces and nephews.
She will be sadly missed by her close friends, Irene Hordijk and Corinne Comeau, and especially her loving niece Susan Godwin.
The family is especially grateful to the staff at Sutton Hill Nursing Home for their warmth and tender care they provided for her. Also, to her sweet room-mate, Kay, for her cheerful disposition and kind demeanor.
