Irenee J. (Rene) Dube, age 88, passed away on May 1, 2013 at the Heritage Hall East Nursing Home in Agawam. He was born on May 13, 1924 in Nashua NH. He was a son of the late Joseph E. and Anais (Bechard) Dube. He has served in the US Air Force for 22 years, serving our country during WWII, the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Irenee later worked at Steigers for many years and also as a branch manager for Baybank in Springfield for 22 years before he retired in 1987. He was a communicant of St Rose de Lima Church. He was a member of the AARP and the Retired Sgt Association in Washington, DC. He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn J. (LeBrun) Dube. He leaves his daughter Diane Dube and her husband Normand of Cincinatti, OH; his sister, Lucielle Beers of Waltham, MA; a sister-in-law, Theresa Dube of Ansonia, CT; one granddaughter Christen and her husband Jimmy Beachamp; one great granddaughter, Annelise Beauchamp along with many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all his friends, especially from Heritage Woods. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in St Rose de Lima Church. Burial will be private in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
