LOWELL—Myra Chapas, 56 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell died unexpectedly July 31st.
She was born in Lowell, on August 21, 1947, a daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Pangiotopoulos) Chapas, and was a graduate of the Lowell Public School System. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Lowell State Teacher’s College and attended extended courses at the University of Lowell. Ms. Chapas was employed as a School teacher in the Lowell Public Schools. She also taught in Miami Florida.
She was a member of GOYA at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and a former member of the Massachusetts Teacher’s Association.
Surviving her are a brother: Peter G. Chappas, of Lowell; a niece: Tara Jean Chappas, and a nephew: Peter G. Chappas, III; also several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private services were held at the convenience of the family.
