Beloved father and best friend of Diane E. Peterson of N. Easton. Father of Alan S. Peterson, MD of Lancaster, PA. He also leaves two grandchildren and his beloved dog Missy.
Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 10am. Burial in South Easton Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 4-7pm.
Obituary Information
Herbert “Pete” Peterson, died Monday at the Braemoor Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Ragnar Gustaf "Gus" Peterson and Blanche M. (Holmes) Peterson. He was raised and educated in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1933. During WWII he was employed as a ship fitter for the Hingham Shipyard/Bethlehem Steel. He owned and operated Peterson Service and Gas Station in various locations in North Abington for 41 years. He was a former member of the Ames Rifle Association, North Easton, VASA Hall, Brockton and the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home throughout the United States, gardening and his beloved dog Missy.
He is survived by one daughter Diane E. Peterson of North Easton with whom he made his home, one son Alan S. Peterson MD of Lancaster, PA and two grandchildren.
