Obituary

CHICOPEE – Marcella M. “Marcy” (Page) Belisle, 87, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Friday, May 3, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on October 10, 1925, a beloved daughter of the late Romeo and Yvonne (Daviau) Page. She was raised in the Willimansett section of Chicopee and graduated from the Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, New Hampshire. She furthered her education and graduated from the Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Holyoke where she received her Nursing Degree. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Providence Hospital and then became a stay at home mom to raise her growing family. She later resumed her nursing career and was a Registered Nurse at the Willimansett Nursing Homes. Following her retirement, she volunteered her time between Hospice and the Willimansett Nursing Homes. Active in her faith, she was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. She was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality at the church and a longtime weekly counter at the church. She was a loving woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her loving son, Richard L. Belisle who was Called Home on July 22, 1978; her parents; and her dear brothers, Raymond and John Page. She leaves the love of her life, her husband, Leo R. Belisle. They were married on April 22, 1947 at the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and just celebrated 66 years of happiness together. She also leaves her nine loving children, Raymond Belisle and his wife, Patricia, of Middletown, OH, Dr. Robert Belisle and his wife, Cecile, of Milford, OH, Suzanne Methe and her husband, Michael, of Chicopee, Janette Barrett and her husband, Robert, of Chicopee, Diane Van Camp of Gloucester, MA, Denise Tobin and her husband, Todd, of Hampden, Anne-Marie Benjamin and her husband, Adam, of Portland, OR, Roger Belisle of Ellington, CT and John Belisle of Chicopee; her 17 cherished grandchildren; her eight cherished great-grandchildren; her dear sister-in-law, Theresa Page of Chicopee; her dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law of the Belisle family, Gerard Belisle and his wife, Stella, of South Hadley; her dear sisters-in-law of the Belisle family, Maddy Belisle of Agawam and Katie Belisle of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Mercy Medical Center for the exceptional care that they provided to Marcy and her family during the past week. Her funeral will be held on Ascension Thursday, May 9, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee. MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
