Josephine A. (Tortorella) Fichera, of Medford, died Monday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford. She was 82.
Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Frank and the late Josephine (Junta) Tortorella, Josephine spent her earliest years in Boston’s West End. She lived most of her life in Medford. Josephine recently worked as a clerk with Hallmark Health in Medford.
She was the wife of the late Anthony “Bud” Fichera who died in 1973. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Lennon and husband Albert of Melrose, a son Charles Fichera and his wife Jeanine (DelGreco) of Revere. She leaves her loving grandchildren Kathryn, Andrew, Matthew, and Tia. Josephine is also survived by her siblings, Frank Tortorella of Stoneham, William Tortorella of FL, the late Vincent Tortorella, Sarah Sarcia, and Louis Tortorella.
Friends and relatives may visit Wednesday from 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Joseph Church, Medford, Thursday at 10 AM with the Most Reverend Richard Lennon, presiding. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
