Obituary

TAUNTON – Everett J. Dupont, Sr. husband of Irene E. (Bennett) Dupont, died at his Taunton home on May 1, 2013.
He was 85.
Born, raised, and educated in Taunton, the son of the late John A. and Emily (Silvia) Dupont, he was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
A carpenter by trade, he worked out of Union Hall Local 1305 in Fall River.
He retired in 1989.
A former president of both the Shawmut Yacht Club and the former Eagles Club in Taunton, Mr. Dupont was a fishing and boating enthusiast, certified with the U.S. Power Squadrons.
He was also a licensed aviator.
An avid Red Sox fan, he enjoyed raising tropical fish, woodworking, woodcarving, and country music.
A musician, he played accordion and organ.
In addition to his wife of Taunton, Mr. Dupont leaves a son, Everett J. Dupont, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Rochester, NH; four daughters, Judith Ann Baptista of Taunton, Margaret Elizabeth Dupont and Sandra Jean Rowley, both of Rochester, NH, and Diane Beverly Hynes of Fall River; three brothers, John R. and Edward A. Dupont, both of Taunton, and Richard D. Dupont of New Bedford; a sister, Mary Joaquin of Taunton; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Daniel R. Dupont.
Funeral services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday May 6th at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, from 9 a.m.to 11 a.m. prior to the services.
