WORCESTER - Mrs. Mary B. (Carlino) Costanzo, passed away peacefully at age 95, Wednesday May 1st at the Jewish Healthcare Center.
Mary leaves two sisters, Lorraine Pratillo and her husband James who were both her caregivers for the past fifteen years; and Louise Ferro; she also leaves her nieces, Linda D’Elia and Rose Delaney who also cared for her during her final years; and many additional nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Mary was pre-deceased by her sister, Carmela Alfego and her brothers, Charles and Dominic Santoro.
She was born July 11, 1917 in Willimantic, Connecticut a daughter of the late Ralph and Palma (Montante) Santoro. Loving wife of forty eight years to the late Ralph A. Costanzo who passed in 1999.
Mary was educated through the Worcester Public Schools and had worked as an inspector for Bell Company for many years. She was married to Ralph Costanzo in 1941.
She will be remembered for her delicious Italian cooking, especially her pizza, and eggplant which were a big hit at every family gathering. Mary also had quite the sense of humor and always had a joke to tell for everyone that she met.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Jewish Healthcare Center Hospice for the care and compassion that they provided to Mary over the past three years.
Her funeral will be held Monday, May 6th at FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St. Worcester, Ma. There will be a Funeral Mass at 11 am at Our Lady of Loreto Church of Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be Monday morning at the funeral home from 9 am to 10:30 am.
