Vincent Joseph Dubowski, 84, of Franklin died May 2; he was the husband of the late Helen S. (Curry) Dubowski, who he had been married to for 57 years prior to her death in 2008.
Born in Jamaica, Queens, New York, January 24, 1929, the son of the late Arcady and Viola (Kulickowski) Dubowski, Mr. Dubowski was raised in Queens and had lived in Hampstead, New Hampshire and Davenport, Iowa prior to moving to Franklin in 1963.
Mr. Dubowski was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson Vocational High School with a trade of printer. He had spent his career in printing, retiring as Director of Pre-Printing Operations at Arrow Business Forms in Medfield.
Following his retirement, he wintered in Palm Springs, California.
Mr. Dubowski loved to play golf and dance. He enjoyed playing the accordion at home and family gatherings.
He was a founding member and officer of the Redland Park Golf Association. Vincent was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a daily communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Even though he was born and raised in New York City, Vincent was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War attaining the rank of Petty Officer.
He is survived by his children, Laura Dubowski of Harwich, V. Sandy Dubowski and his wife Karen of Franklin, Mary Ann Furlong and her husband Gerald of Thousand Oaks, California.
He was the brother of the late Alex and Walter Dubowski.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer and Kelly Dubowski and Elizabeth and Laura Furlong.
He is also survived by his loving companion Irene Pond of Franklin.
His funeral will be held on Monday May 6 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.gineyfuineralhomes.com) 131 Main Street Franklin at 9:15 followed by funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.
