Rita M. Jacques joined her husband Edward, daughter Kathleen, sons Michael and William, her parents Michael and Olive Morin, and brother Roland Morin in Heaven on April 30, 2013. Rita courageously battled heart complications over the last few months.
Rita grew up in Edmunston, New Brunswick Canada, moving to the United States in 1942. She married and raised her large family in Lawrence. Rita was a lifelong career mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. She could light up any room she entered with her vivacious personality. Rita often spoke in her native tongue, showing her Canadian French heritage when the opportunity arose. Most recently Rita enjoyed feeding Sarah her pet peacock, and riding around sunny Florida on her three wheeler bicycle.
Rita is survived by her former husband Thomas Jacobs; sons Thomas Jacobs, John and his wife Elisa Jacobs, James and his wife Janice Jacobs, daughters; Suzanne Jacobs and her fiancé Ray Stevens all of Massachusetts; Veronica Jacobs and Joyce Jacobs and her husband Tom Cross all of Florida, and Michelle and her husband John Oberlin of Ohio, brothers; Ronald Morin of Maryland and Reggie Morin of Germany, a sister; Joyce Landry of Salisbury, MA, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 300 Haverhill St., Lawrence, MA. Entombment will follow in St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Chapel Mausoleum, also in Lawrence, MA.
