Josephine A. "Doady" Sanford, 97, of New Bedford died May 1, 2013 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Mashpee, the daughter of the late Harvey F. and Corinda (Hicks) Sanford, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Mary Jean "Tiny" Babbitt of Dorchester; 3 grandchildren, Gerald "Brother" Babbitt and his wife Sally, Benjamin Babbitt and his wife Betsy and Wendy Babbitt; 7 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a niece and a nephew.
She was predeceased by her son Barry Babbitt, her granddaughter Toni Anne Babbitt and her 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
Private arrangements are with the the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
