Dorothy T. (Ferreira) Medeiros-Pontes, wife of the late Louis Medeiros and the late Johnny Pontes, died at the Sarah S. Brayton Care Center in Fall River after a long illness on April 29, 2013.
She was 85.
Born in Raynham, she was the daughter of the late Manuel S. and Mary (Leal) Ferreira.
She grew up in Berkley, attended Berkley Schools, and resided in Berkley for many years.
She was employed as a press operator for the former Whittenton Garment Co. for many years.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph MacKay of Wrentham, Gary Medeiros of VA, and Kevin Medeiros of Fall River; a stepson, Kenneth Pontes of Berkley; a brother, Manuel Medeiros of Berkley; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Fanny Mendoza.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday May 3rd at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of The Lord Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 2nd from 5 to 8 p.m.
