NATICK: Kathleen (Dowd) McDevitt, age 72, of Natick, died on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Tufts Medical Center after a long illness. She was the devoted wife of James J. McDevitt who predeceased her in 2006.
Born in Roscommon, Ireland, on September 27, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Mary Jane (Hayden) Dowd. She came to the United States as a young girl and has made her home in Natick for the past 50 years. Known as Kitty to her family and friends, she never lost her lovely Irish brogue or her love for all things Irish.
Kitty is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Chatalian and her husband Mark of Holliston, and Doreen M. Lamberto of Franklin; five grandchildren, Patrick McCaul of Boston, Steven and Caitlin McCaul, both of Holliston, and Elizabeth and Margaret Lamberto, both of Franklin. She is also survived by Colleen McKenzie of Bellingham. Kitty was the sister of the late Michael Dowd, Margaret Saich, Thomas Dowd, and Mona Kiernan.
Arrangements with the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, are private at the request of the family.
