Obituary

Rockland – Raymond E. St. Jean, Jr. 86, passed away Sunday April 28 in South Shore Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to the late Mary (Alterisio) St. Jean.

Born in Andover he was the son of the late Raymond E. Sr. and Viola (Gagnon) St. Jean.

Raymond was a graduate of Commerce High of Springfield and later furthered his education attending night classes at Stonehill College and Northeastern University.

He was a proud veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy from 1944-1946, and was honorably discharged to care for his six younger siblings upon the death of his father.

Before his retirement in 1991, he had served for 32 years as the Director of Purchasing/Material Management for the Carney Hospital of Dorchester.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.

He is survived by his 7 loving children Raymond and his wife Beth of Scituate, Michael and his wife Judy of Hanover, David and his wife Betty of Wareham, Arleen Regan of Rockland, Mark and his wife Deanna Mae of FL, Lisa Harney of Hyde Park and Stephen and his wife Sheila of Wareham; his brothers Robert and his late wife Rita formerly of Pembroke and Ronald and his wife Helen of Weymouth, his sisters Barbara Noone and her husband Robert of Rockland, Marilyn McPhail of Abington and Frances Damon and her husband Fred of Rockland. He is also survived by his grandchildren Selena, Steven, Adam, Michael, Amanda, Meghan, Alison, April, Evan, Abigail, Nicholas, Christopher, Shannon, Jay, Nicole, Cody and Tyler; his great grandchildren Steven, Benjamin, Cameron, Aiden, Annie Rose, Victoria, Grace, Emma, Madison and Riley as well as 18 nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard St. Jean.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday May 1 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9-11 AM.
