Obituary

BEVERLY: Robert V. “Bob” Squibb, 97, husband of the late Marjorie (Riley) Squibb, died April 26, 2013 at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation Center in Beverly after a brief illness.
Bob was born in Lynn and was a lifetime resident of Beverly. He was the son of the late William John and Alice (Vatcher) Squibb born in Newfoundland, N.S. Bob worked at First National Foods, Cushman Bakery for 25 years, and Henry’s Market of North Beverly for 20 years, where he retired. Bob was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Beverly for over 58 years, where he served as Deacon, Vice President of the Men’s Club, Advisor to Youth Fellowship and Senior High Fellowship, Head Usher, and Advisor of the Church Maintenance & Building Committee. Bob enjoyed dancing, playing drums, vacationing in Maine, and traveling and wintering in Florida. You could always hear whistling when Bob was around.
Mr. Squibb is survived by his son, William P. Squibb and his partner, Lorelei Azarian of Beverly, two daughters, Susan S. Conte and husband, Anthony V. Conte Jr. of So. Hamilton and Linda Squibb and her partner, Brian A. Fumarola of Beverly; caring partner, Deborah St. Peter of Beverly and her daughter, Joyce St. Peter; three grandchildren, Christopher A. Conte of South Hamilton, Amelia R. Squibb of Beverly and Andrew B. Judd of Christiana, TN; two great- granddaughters, Brianna and Skyler Judd, of Christiana, TN; his sister-in-law, Martha F. Stanley of Pittsford, NY and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother, Charles Squibb, Beverly, two sisters, Florence Hollifield of Ormond Beach, FL and Marion Lightbody of Hamilton.
His memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 in the Second Congregational Church, 35 Conant St., Beverly at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or to the Rev. Robert Rasche Scholarship Fund, c/o the Second Congregational Church, 35 Conant Street, Beverly, MA 01915.
