Terry Lee Shea, age 58, of Stonington passed away at home on Thursday, April 25, 2013.
Born on October 14, 1954 in Westerly, RI, he was the son of Barbara (Shea) Cloutier of North Stonington and the late Walter Joseph Shea.
Terry enjoyed the outdoors and for many years he worked at Asplundh Tree Service, Davis Standard and General Dynamics, respectively. Terry was also an avid sports fan and animal lover. Anything “Boston” was his passion; he followed devotedly the progress of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and the Celtics. In his youth, he played basketball, baseball and football as an adult he was always watching one or the other of these sports on television at any given moment on any given day.
He will be dearly missed by his beloved dogs- Elsie Alice, Daisy Mae and Angel. At one time his menagerie of animals included chickens, llamas, goats, horses, cats and even Holstein cows.
Terry is survived by his partner and wife of 25 years, Bonnye S. )Main) Shea. He leaves behind four stepchildren: Danielle Pucci, Jason Cloutier, Raina Schiffer and Robert DePerry. He is survived by his mother and step-father Barbara and David Cloutier and three younger brothers: Brian C. Shea, Kevin M. Shea and Keith O. Shea. He had a number of grandchildren that were his pride and joy.
Visitation will be held at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Monday from 4pm - 6:30pm immediately followed by a service with The Rev. Dr. Mark Porizky officiating. Burial will be private.
