Mr. Carleton Myrl Struthers, a resident of Andover since 1971and beloved husband of Mariateresa (Del Piano) Struthers, died on Tuesday morning, April 23, 2013. He was 69 years old.
Born in Brattleboro, Vermont, on April 25, 1943, Carleton was the beloved son of the late Carleton M. and Reginia A. (Bostwick) Struthers. Mr. Struthers was a Vietnam Army veteran, entering the military at Brattleboro, Vermont on February 9, 1962 and receiving his honorable discharge from the US Army Personnel Center in Oakland, California on February 8, 1965. He received a Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Struthers also served in the Army reserves until January 31, 1968. Before entering the military, Mr. Struthers attended the University of Vermont and later graduated from Lowell University. He worked as a Senior Principle Software Engineer for Raytheon for many years. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Carleton enjoyed playing golf and tennis. In his younger years, he especially enjoyed playing baseball. Above all, Mr. Struthers was a very devoted and loving, husband, father and grandfather.
Besides his beloved wife, Terri, Carleton will be very sorely missed by his loving daughter and son-in-law; Cinzia R. Struthers-Causer and her husband Andrew M. Causer of London, grandchildren; Taylor, Adam and Francesca Causer, all of London, half-brother; Clarence Struthers of Vermont, half-sister; Rose and her husband, John Deitz of Vermont, step-mother; Jeannette Struthers-Felton of Miller Falls, MA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 1 PM at the Chapel at West Parish Garden Cemetery, 129 Reservation Road, Andover. Interment was in West Parish Garden Cemetery.
