TAUNTON – Jean Sauveur Philippe of Taunton died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on April 20, 2013.
He was 82.
Born, raised and educated in Haiti, he was a veteran of the Haitian Army.
He owned and operated a jewelry and watch repair shop in Haiti before moving to the Taunton area in 1976.
The son of the late Jean and Caristi (Brutus) Philippe, Mr. Phillipe was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marie (Michel) Philippe; two sons, G. F. Philippe and Sage Philippe; a daughter, Judith Philippe; and a sister, Janet Philippe.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, April 27th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 26th from 5 to 8 p.m.
