Nita Jones Freeman, 74, of Ocilla, Georgia, died on Friday, August 6, 2004 in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM, Sunday, August 8, 2004, at the Ocilla Baptist Church, with Dr. Ray Allen and Rev. Mitchell Luckie officiating. Eulogy will be given by Quinn Freeman. Interment will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Freeman was born May 15, 1930, in Ellaville, Georgia to the late Arthur L. and Ruby Milner Jones. She lived in Ocilla since 1955. Mrs. Freeman received her nursing training from ABAC and Valdosta State College, where she also received her teaching certificate. She taught nursing at Ben Hill-Irwin Tech and was a former nurse at the Medical College of Georgia, Palemon Gaskin Nursing Home, Tift General Hospital and Irwin County Hospital. Mrs. Freeman was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by one daughter: Jane Freeman (N. Allen) Phillips, Tifton; one son: Quinn (Linda) Freeman, III, Kingston, WA; four grandchildren: Sara Lindsey Freeman, Megan Elizabeth Freeman, Kathryn Quinn Freeman and Keely Freeman Phillips; two brothers: Robin Jones, Greensboro, NC and Harold Jones, Preston, GA; two sisters: Sandra Moore, Rock Hill, SC and Rhonda Luckie, Appomattox, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Quinn Freeman, Jr.
