Sandra L. “Sandy” (Bruce) Dawson, 67, went home to her heavenly father, at home with her husband by her side. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. She was a member of South Jefferson Baptist Church and the Triple “L” Club. She loved to camp, fish was an avid UK fan, and loved Jeff Gordon #24. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cordia Bruce and Helen Callis; brother, Johnny Callis. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, James P. “Sonny” Dawson; Daughter, Suzette Gentry (Leonard) and brother, Denzil Bruce (Kathie), many nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be Saturday, 1pm at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. with burial at St. Andrews Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 1pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers the family ask that expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
